Mint Julep Recipe

Steeplechase is this weekend which means bring on the mint juleps! Whether you are watching the race from the track or will be tuning in on TV, a chilled drink is a must. Here is my favorite recipe that will assure you a refreshing treat for the races...

INGREDIENTS

1/8 cup mint julep leaves

2 mint sprigs

1 tablespoon sugar

3 ounces bourbon

Crushed ice

MINT JULEP

In a julep cup mix the sugar with 1 tablespoon of water until dissolved. Clap the mint leaves to release the oils, and combine in the cup with the sugar water mixture. Put the ice in the cup and top with bourbon. Use the mint sprigs to garnish the top, and enjoy!

Shop the EKKO Steeplechase-inspired collection, hand-poured in julep cups. Once you burn through your candle, be sure to reuse it as a mint julep cup!
